We woke on Wednesday morning to a gorgeous day and the North Sea almost devoid of waves – millpond comes to mind as an apt description. Our journey via London to Dover and the first night aboard had left little time for discovering much about our surroundings so today we explored the Black Watch.
There are plenty of pleasant places to sit and admire the views, from the very topmost floors up among the radar dishes, down to the main swimming pool level:
As well as the main pool, a couple of exercise pools (with controllable currents to swim against) and a jacuzzi offer a choice of ways to cool off. Our cabin on level 7 is very nice, adequately sized and with a big window currently getting the morning sun:
Experiences outside our normal range included afternoon tea in a 'Palm Court' style setting with a three-piece musical ensemble in the company of David, Margaret & Jackie.
Then the evening dinner required 'Formal' dress: dress suit & black tie for the gentlemen and an 'elegant' evening dress for the ladies. So, here we are dressed up to meet the captain:
Our captain, Ingar Neerland:
And that's it for today.
